Can Mucinex Be Taken Safely By Someone With An Enlarged Prostate?

Question: Hello! Can Mucinex be taken safely by a 67 yr old patient with an enlarged prostate? He has some difficulty urinating and does so many times per day and per night. He is not taking medication for enlarged prostate. Thank you!

All medications are associated with potential side effects but mucinex is not known to cause urinary retention or affect the prostate in any other way.

It can rarely be associated with dizziness and headache.
Nausea and vomiting can occur if higher than normal doses are used
