Brief Answer:
Suggest not to use Amoxycillin before seeing doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Although Amoxycillin is a sensitive drug for most common pneumonia causing organisms like Staph, I suggest not to use it before seeing a doctor. The local sensitivities of drug can vary and it is the treating doctor alone who can make the best possible recommendation about an antibiotic against pneumonia. While in some countries Amoxycillin is no more sensitive against pneumonia causing staph or others in others it is weakly sensitive. It is given with another antibiotic called Clavulinic acid.
Do you have any other features like short of breath, high fever with chills and rigor, cough and chest pain?
Always a physical examination along with Chest Xray would confirm a diagnosis of Pneumonia. So it is not in the right context to use Amoxycillin before you see a doctor.
However you can use other symptomatic treatments like Tylenol / Advil or anti cough medicines.
Hope this answers.
