Brief Answer: Diabetes Detailed Answer: Hydrocodone/vicodin/narcotics in general are not known to have any adverse direct effects on diabetes. There are many medications that are very well known to have a negative effect on glucose control ie worsen diabetes. Opioids are not one of them. So I see you are on hydrocodone. There are no published reports, to the best of my knowledge, in respected medical literature describing any positive or negative impact on diabetes control.
