Can Galvus Met And Cetapin XR Be Taken When Diagnosed With Diabetes Mellitus?

Question: I have been diagnosed as a Diabetic and my doctor has recommended Galvus Met 50/500 and Cetapin XR TAB 500 mg.Would like to know the appropriateness of these medicines and side effects if any.

As such combination is concerned is a effective in control blood sugar levels.
Also relatively safe in terms of side effects.
Citapin XR 500mg contains Metaformin 500mg.
Galvus Met contains Vildagliptin 50mg & Metaformin 500mg.

Metaformin may cause stomach upset in initial period after starting it but but body get used to it with its continuous use.
Vildagliptin rarely have any significant side effects.

Whether the combination is indicated or not it will depends upon your blood sugar levels.
