Brief Answer:
Exforge can cause inflamed gums

Detailed Answer:
Hello
First of all thanks for approaching Healthcare magic for your query. I read through your query and I must say I concur with your doctor. Exforge(amlodipine) is an antihypertensive drug which has side effect of inflammation of gums(ginigivitis). As suggested by your dentist I also suggest you to go for another class of antihypertensive drug if poosible.

Hope this helps. Stay cool and be happy. Happy mind is best drug for any disease. Have a healthy day!

I just talked to my internist and he says exforge does not cause gingivitis. So what do I do now.

Brief Answer:
Exforge side effect is gingivitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for your prompt follow up query. I read through your query. I must say that exforge (amlodipine) comes under category of calcium channel blocker of antihypertensive drugs. It is listed to cause oral side effect of gingivitis. The only way to find out is getting the drug replaced. If symptoms get better, then we know it's the drug.

Your dentist can explore other causes after we try the aforementioned option.

Dentist can do treatment for gingivitis but it wont last long as the source is not changed. I suggest you to kindly request your cardilogist to replace it so that dental treatment can be done.

Hope you are convinced and understood what I said.
Have a healthy day. Please review and drop comment for my answer so that I can improve my answering in the next queries. Thank you
