Can Cozaar Be Taken For Hypertension?

Question: Hi,since I was taken to a hospital recently,because I had a very high blood pressure problem,and normally my blood pressure was ok,I was given the generic of Cozaar,25mg.
I wonder if that prevents the spike of high blood pressure and are able to tell me if it takes a while for the body to get 'used' to it to prevent further spikes?

Now my next question is: because I have chronic pain situation and made the experience,the only medicine that helps is Advil and Advil Cold & Sinus.
How bad might be the long term reaction on my body and in which way?
I read that one should not take Advil with Cozaar or the generic version.

From drowsinews dizziness to serious complications like liver and kidney detoriation can be seen in un monitored long term therapy.
Both of them should be seperated by a peoid of atleast 15minutes
