Brief Answer:
tadalafil is better option

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for writing to us. I can understand your concern.

You have problem of erectile dysfunction. You are also taking bisoprolol likely for some cardiac problem or hypertension.

5- PDE inhibitor group of medicines includes sildenafil or tadalafil. It is proven drug for male erectile dysfunction and some reports of success in female also. One of them should be used 2 hours prior to sex. They cause headache, stuffy nose nausea and gastric discomfort like common side effects. Proper physical check-up of cardiac system should be done by a doctor before starting the same. These are prescription medicines and you need to consult doctor/psychiatrist/sexologist for the prescription.

Tadalafil is safer relatively than sildenafil in patient with cardiac problem.

I recommend tadalafil (cialis) instead of sildenafil (Viagra) with your treating doctor's permission.

I also want to make one suggestion.

You can use medicine cum vitamin supplement containing pyridoxal-5-phosphate, mecobalamin and l-methylfolate (trade name tetrafol plus)is very helpful in my patients. It has shown improvement in 50-60% patients of mine with blood pressure. You may get this medicine over the counter as it is vitamin product.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.

Thank you I have been told that my blood pressure is absolutely normal at a recent visitation to my GP and why I am still on Bisoprilol I think is more of an over sight than a necessity.
I have however bought Viagra via an on line Chemist so would prefer to utilise that until I have run out, before changing to something else provided you thInk this is ok and safe to do so. Am I alright to do so ?

Brief Answer:
You can start with half dose but better to inform your doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for clarification.

As such no serious side effect has been noted with single dose in stable patient. It is better to take medicine after consulting local doctor so any side effect occurs by chance doctor can provide immediate help.

You can start with lowest dose of 25 mg. If no side effect and no satisfactory response, you can go to 50 mg.

Any drug can cause side effect first time in an individual. From your provided history it seems that it is relatively safe. However for more specific guidance I need to see your recent cardiac check up as you are already above 60.

There should be no hesitation in informing your GP.

Take care.
