Can Benadryl Cause Acne On Forehead?

default
Posted on Thu, 30 Jul 2015
Question: can benedryl cause acne? Can't get into derm until August 26. Curious what's causing the recent acne on forehead. Which is terrible! I started using mupirocin ointment today to treat. I hate taking any antibiotics and rarely due. I'm strict with facial regimen using only natural products. Just trying to figure out what's causing this. Can it be benedryl? It seems that's the only thing I can connect to the breakouts. Aside from stress.

Brief Answer:
Benadryl is not related to acne

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

No, Benadryl or stress don't have a causative relation with acne. Initially topical clindamycin, benzoyl peroxide, isotretinoin can be used for mild acne. Oral doxycycline or azithromycin is also used for treatment. Oral Retinoid agents can be used for moderate to severe or recurrent episodes of acne. These medications would be best prescribed by a dermatologist after a proper physical exam.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
