Brief Answer:
If possible should be avoided.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to us about it.

Congratulation on your pregnancy.

Asthalin 2 (Salbutamol 2 mg) is FDA approved category C drugs means it is only practiced during pregnancy when the potential benefit is more than fetal risk.

It is not safe during pregnancy as such, but you can use it by inhalation route that is much safer because a lesser drug is absorbed through this path.

You can use terbutaline (same as Salbutamol) which is FDA approved category A drug means safe during pregnancy.

Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more question.

Good luck.
Regards
Dr.Richa

Madam,,

Whether I have to take terbutaline in inhaler form ya pills.

I have already taken two pills ( Asthalin ) , one yesterday night and one today morning. Is it necessary to take any action for that?

Brief Answer:
Inhalor form is much better.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Nice to get word from you all again.

You should take terbutalin in inhaler form which is quite more effective and secure.

Stop taking Asthalin as early as possible after consulting your doctor and go for an ultrasound abdomen to ensure fetal well being.

Hopefully it is clear now.

Good luck.
