Can Amoxycillin And Doxycycline Be Taken Together?

Question: Doctor at clinic prescribed Amoxycillin Clavinate and doxycycline hyclate together for an infected staph infection in my daughter's armpit. Is it advisable to take those both together?

Amoxicillin is very commonly used in armpit staph infection either singly or as coamoxyclav. Doxycycline is indicated in a more severe infection.

If your doctor have suggested both together, then he/she might have some reason. It cant be confirmed without a clinical examination. As your doctor had done that before prescribing the drugs, I think you should follow the advice. There is no harm in taking these together.
