default
Posted on Mon, 6 Feb 2017
Question: over the past two days ive been experiencing a level of drowsiness during the daytime. currently I'm taking zestoretic and amlodipine for high blood pressure and Nexium for reflux. I addition Ive been taking a combination of aleve and tylonol extra strength for tooth pain. in regards to the tooth pain I did see a dentist that prescribed me a bottle of chlorhexidine to reduce swelling prior to a future cleaning but the OTC meds were for the immediate pain management until the mouthrinse would start to work, with that said, my question would be what is causing this drowsiness? would it be the aleve. not ure at this point and would like some assistance . thanks

Brief Answer:
Yes, out of the drugs you are taking, aleve is the only one that can

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. There are a few points in my mind that I would like to highlight for your better understanding sir:

+Aleve does have drowsiness as a common side effect, so if the drowsiness has started since you have started taking this medication, this could very well be the cause

+Zestoretic, amlodipine and tylenol do not have drowsiness as a side effect

I would recommend a revision in your aleve prescription to a different non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that does not present with drowsiness in order to provide you with more comfort.

I hope my response helps clear your doubt. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications sir, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
