Hi,

Thanks for posting your query.

Basically the stool is brown in color.

What was the color earlier?
Is there any mucus with stool?
Is there any pain in abdomen?
How many times do you pass stool in a day?
Do you smoke or consume alcohol?

If you have a stool report done get back to me with these clarifications.

I will be available for follow-up queries.

Hi,

Thanks for posting your follow-up query.

From your answers it appears you are suffering from gastritis and the dark brown color of stool suggests there are some erosion and little bleeding above the intestine.

I would recommend you stop alcohol, take bland non spicy diet, go for Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPI) group of drugs for 6 weeks and antacid for 3-4 weeks.

Hope all clear, do accept the reply if there are no further queries.
