Brief Answer: Not really. Detailed Answer: Hello, Welcome to healthacremagic, and thanks for writing in. I wouldn't consider 130/79 as anything to be worried about, I say this because, blood pressure is a variable, and can change depending on your emotional state, physical activity, and the time of the day. The upper limit for systolic blood pressure is 120, and that for diastolic is 80, however, we do not consider them to be abnormal till about 140/90, and active intervention is instituted only when the blood pressure crosses the said limit. That said, I would advise you to cut down a bit on salt intake, and start exercising, if you are not doing that already, and also check your blood pressure at different times of the day, over two weeks time, take as many readings as you can and see how it is. In case they persistently are elevated, then it will be prudent to consult your PCP for further evaluation and management. Hope this answers your concern, if however you have any doubts, you are most welcome to ask me to clarify the same. Wishing you good health. Warm regards.
