Brief Answer:
There is no risk in second pregnancy if both of you are O positive

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. As both of you are having O positive blood group, there is no need to worry at all.

2. Both you and your husband are Rh positive so there will be no problems in conceiving your second baby.

3. The problem happens when the husband is Rh positive and wife is Rh negative and they have first child whose blood group is Rh positive. When the mother is Rh negative, her immune system treats Rh positive fetal cells in the first baby as if they were a foreign body and generates antibodies against the fetal blood cells.

During the second pregnancy with a positive Rh baby, these anti-Rh antibodies may cross back through the placenta into the fetus and destroy the baby's circulating red blood cells.

4. There is no risk of any abnormal event occurring due to blood group during the second pregnancy if you and your husband are having same blood group O positive.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
