Question: Sudden onset of sharp, piercing pain in area of heart which radiated to back shoulder area, tenderness in left chest to shoulder area, immediate stiffness in neck, numbness in left arm including hand, blurred vision, numbness in left leg, sharp pain in left side of top of scalp, shortness of breath, bp was 158/93, breathing 78%, pulse 95, dizziness, slurred speech, go to stand and legs give out and feel like going to pass out. Those were the symptons I experienced. At the hospital was told it was just arthritis or kink in my neck by moving head to fast. I believe they were wrong. I value a second opinion.Should I be concerned about the symptons I sent you, or are you still working on the possibilities?

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Your symptoms don't seem to be cardiac related.

The numbness in your left limbs, blurring vision and sharp pain in the top of the scalp may be signs of a transient ischemic attack (TIA).

How long did these symptoms last?

Did you perform a brain CT scan?

The sharp pain in the left side of the chest, irradiating in the back, neck and shoulder area may be related to a radicular pain, probably related to a cervical disc problem. Arthritis could be related to such issues.

Did they perform a neck X ray study? What were the results?

I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical examination, and a brain MRI and Doppler Ultrasound of the neck vessels to examine the blood flow in them.

An angio MRI (MRA) would help examine better the intracranial vessels.

Regarding the neck stiffness and pain in the chest and shoulder a cervical spine CT scan would help exclude possible disc disorders.

If all the above tests result normal, an EEG would help exclude possible partial epileptic seizures, which could cause transitory numbness in the left limbs.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!
