Question: We were swimming in a lake this afternoon. a wave from a boat came and splashed up into my 4 year Olds mouth. he coughed hard for a minute and then went on playing. this was probably 5-6 hours ago. he seemed fine all afternoon. .. no coughing, no personality changes. ... then he fell asleep on the way home. after arriving home, we woke him up and put him in the tub to wash the sand off him. he was upset and started crying and made himself cough a few times. since then he seems tired but not lethargic. should I be worried? I worry about the dry or secondary drowning. or could it just be he's 4 and tired from a long day in the sun?

Brief Answer:
Situation seems fine.No need to worry. He might just be exhausted.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have carefully gone through the details. Let me assure you that you need not worry as what you have described seems absolutely normal to me. The situation seems fine and you need not worry about secondary drowning. It is more likely that he is just tired after a long day in the sun.

Regards
