Are Oral Contraceptive Pills Safe?

Question: Hi Doctor,

My wife has visited gynocologist recently as she has missed period for one month. It it haa been regularised.

We are palnning to have baby not now. We both are at age 29.

Doctor has peaceibed XXXXXXX tab.

Now is it safe to continue? Is there any side effect if it is continued for long period.

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. XXXXXXX tablets are oral contraceptive pills which are also given for regulating the periods.
However, a woman cannot conceive while taking it, as it is a contraceptive pill.
So, if you both are planning to conceive, then these pills should be stopped.
