Are Frequent And Urgent Urination And Itching Irritation Near The Vulva A Concern?

Question: I have been experiencing frequent and urgent urination (usually about every 2 1/2 hrs., but sometimes as often as once an hour or as long as every three hours.). I also have itching and irritation of the vulvar area. It does not feel like a normal yeast infection and there doesn't seem to be any vaginal discharge, although I had been on oral antibiotics for an infected tooth and consequent root canal close to the time of inception of this problem (early Dec.) I almost always get a yeast infection with antibiotics. I was hoping the problem would resolve itself and was extremely busy. I was out of town for over two weeks for the holidays and just couldn't spare the time to find a doctor. I thought perhaps it might merely be tissue irritation from wiping so frequently. The urine is clear with no blood or cloudiness. There is no pain during urination, however I do feel a "stitch" or slight pulling sensation in the right side kidney area in my back, and then more recently in the front of my body as I lean forward to stand from a sitting position or when I am on my hands and knees. I do drink a lot of water and herbal Ice tea (about three quarts or more per day, occasionally more) but I always have--this is not a new development. I am sexually monogamous and am not sexually active.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have frequent urge for urination and itching in genital area since coupe of weeks .

1) Are you diabetic? if so is it under control?

The frequent urge for urination with itching in genital area is mostly due to Genital Candidiasis and needs to get blood sugar levels tests done to confirm the same .

Get following basic tests done to rule out bacterial infection
1) Routine urine test and urine culture This would help to avoid unnecessary use of antibiotics .
2) Swab test of a discharge from urethra (If any )

If it is embarrassing your routine life take anti muscuranic drug like Darifenacin once daily .This would help to reduce urgency and frequency .
