Are Delayed Periods, Cramps In Lower Abdomen, Soreness In Breasts And Erected Nipples, Signs Of Pregnancy ?

Question: XXXXXXX

I wonder if I have been mistaken.
I was with my partner just over a few weeks ago,
I am on the pill but I had forgotten to take it on one or two
occasions. I had also been on the injection until the Easter and
started the pill from then. My periods aren't regular, as I hadn't
had any since the injection.

Now about 2 weeks ago I noticed slight light brown bleeding.
Thought nothing of it, then a small clot of blood, dark and brown I think,
came out one night. During that time, pregnancy tests had come up negative.

I had simply brushed it off as a period, or a possible 'miscarriage'
before the egg could attach, as when it happened I had alot of very bad cramping.

The cramping as continued, though there is no more discharge or blood. It is in my lower
abdomen, near the right side. I have felt like I am hungrier, and feel like I have a cold, as my throat
feels clogged, and I get strange taste in my mouth. My breasts are very sore, near to the nipples, and
along the sides. My nipples aren't sore but are very sensitive and seem more 'out' or erect. They are
also slightly redder, and they seem to be slightly cracked, and with dry skin that is peeling a tiny bit.
Also the little bumps around the aereola and nipples seem to look more pronounced.

I havn't done any further tests since the time of my period, and its nearly 3-4 weeks later.
I am wondering if I should go and test again?

Please get back to me as soon as you can,
Thanks.

Well when I was on the injection, I had been on for a good few years and my periods had totally stopped. When I started the pill, I did have a slight bleed in my week break though it wasn't fresh blood as it was brown. And I had alot, which wasn't unusual for me, as my periods used to be really heavy. The dates I had my partner with me (long-distance) was from the 27th of may til the 6th of XXXXXXX roughly a week. We were fairly active during that time. With my Autism I am very forgetful, and on about 2 or 3 occasions I had completely forgotten to take my pill during that week, and weeks before that. I had a slight bleed a week or so after he had left to go home. It as very very light and brown again save for the small clot of blood which was also very dark in colour. I have had no bleeding since thenm but the above symptoms in the past week-fortnight. My cycles were regular in the past.

Hello,

Thanks again.

From the fact that you have missed pills several times, you must remember that you were not protected at that time.Since your periods have been irregular it cannot be determined whether you were ovulating or not ,at least without tests.

Now, ever considering that you were fertile during the week you were sexually active, there is a possibility of Pregnancy.

So,the first thing you need to do is see a doctor and get a pregnancy test.

If the test is positive, further management depends on you.Speak with your doctor about alternatives.

If the test is negative then you will get your period eventually and the symptoms you are having is pre menstrual(very similar to pregnancy).

If you have trouble remembering to take your pills then you need to discuss alternative methods of contraception because you wont be protected in case of pregnancy, if you forget.
