Are Bladder Inflammation And Frequent Urination Symptoms Of Urethritis?

Question: do i have urethritis. i have been suffering with UTI symptoms x 4 weeks. 2 urine cultures have been neg. moderate to severe urgency and freqency, peeing every half hour to hour. Urologist saw me once and PA once. niether of them looked at my genatiles to see if there was any visual problem at the urethra like pus or swelling ect. I have been put on myrbetric 25mg daily x 3 weeks and peridium sugar free cranberry jiuce doesnt give me relief. I drink 2 leters of water a day to keep bladder flushed out. I am miserable.
I was exposed to VRE. vancomycin resistant e-coli at a friends house 4 weeks ago . I used the bathroom that the person with vre has and only after did my friend tell me i should use private bathroom.

As an Urologist, let me give you an expert opinion. You're prone to have urethritis.
Inflammation of the outlet from bladder is the urethra. It need not be urinary infection. Severe inflammation or urethritis, is seen in people with the kind of symptoms you're having, especially in diabetics.
Your doctor would have checked your kidney function tests and done an ultrasound abdomen. The other test is a cystoscopy to confirm the changes.

If these are not done, it would be good option to report back and discuss about it.

Your doctor may prescribe bladder relaxants, to relieve the frequency and urge.
