132 Beats Per Minute Heart Beat, Fever. Normal Or Heart Related Problems ?
Question: is 132 beats per minute to fast for a two year old child who has a fever

Normally heart beat of 100 beats per minute is referred to as tachycardia.
Such changes can physiologically occur due to fever. Accordingly, heart beat of 132 in a two year old is probably due to high fever.
As soon as the fever subsides, the heart rate will come back to normal. Sometimes the heart rate may remain raised till the infection subsides due to which the fever appeared.
In a child of two years, a heart rate of upto 135 beats per minute may be just a normal physiological finding. It is not concerning. But if they remain persistently high or if the child reports pounding audible sound heard, you might consider consulting a doctor for an examination.
