Infertility can be an emotionally taxing situation for a couple that often leaves them feeling incomplete or unfortunate. Unlike what the term implies, infertility does not mean that the couple will never be able to have a child. As many as 15% couples are diagnosed with infertility, but only 1% to 2% of them are sterile, i.e., have a permanent inability to bear a child. Fertility problems are equally common in both men and women. In several cases, some problem is found to be present in both partners. Similarly, in about 15% of infertility cases no underlying cause can be found in spite of all tests and examinations
