| Question : Question: i usually have pains in my legs after my monthly periods , somestimes the pain comes even before my periods ,i also experience pain on my right side of my abdoman can you please advise what is wrong with me and what can be done.I feel so weak when the legs start painging. |

Answer : Menstrual cramps are a very common finding.
There is nothing to worry about.
1. Regular exercise during the normal days and maintaining an ideal weight, help in reducing the cramps to a great extent.
2. When you are in your period, try to rest as much as possible and avoid activities like excess walking and climbing stairs.
3. Eat a healthy balanced diet even during your periods.
4. Drink plenty of oral fluids, especially citrus fruit juices like orange or lemon juice.
If the pain in the right side of the abdomen is not subsiding, then you should get an ultrasound scan done to rule out kidney stones.
