User :   Around the start of June, I was bench pressing in the gym and felt a crack in my neck followed by blinding pain; in my neck, shoulders, across my back and head. I have been to chiropractors, osteopaths and to the GP who has put me on Dicloflex 50mg for inflammation, however I am still experiencing pain. It seems that everyday I am experiencing this pain with no view to an end and it is getting me down. Can anyone advice me on what now to do?
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Dr XXX here
Doctor :   let me read your query
User :   Hi there Dr.
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   Was an xray taken?
User :   No, the doctor said that because there was no impact such as a car accident etc, it was most likely to be inflammation.
User :   It doesn't sound serious does it?
Doctor :   Since you complain of pain radiating and also not releived by anti inflamnatory drugs
Doctor :   I would suggest you to go for it
Doctor :   As it involves the neck
User :   But I am in XXXX and under the NHS you must be referred for an X-ray and cannot simply ask for one.
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Did the chiropracter not suggest for one
User :   Well I am going to another, well-reguarded, chiropractor on Thursday where I have the option to get one, do you recommend I do?
User :   Can you tell me what you suspect it may be?
Doctor :   Its probably a muscle cramp/ nerve injury
Doctor :   8nerve injury
User :   Are they serious? Require surgery? How long can they potentially last? Will going to a chiropractor aggravate the condition doctor?
Doctor :   Do you have past history of any spondylitis
Doctor :   Unless confirmed you should not go to a chiropracter
User :   Not that I know.
Doctor :   Plz do get an xray orthopedician opinion before chiro#
User :   How can I do this? Must I go private?
Doctor :   What about your PCP
User :   We have a NHS system where it is government funded so you cannot just ask for scans etc
Doctor :   Even X ray?
User :   No nothing doctor.
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   Then you can start using cervical collar for time being
User :   But does it sound serious doctor? I'm 20 years old
Doctor :   Though not serious you can avoid strain to the region which will fasten the releif
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me
Doctor :   Bye for now
Doctor :   wishing you speedy recovery
