User :   I am a 37 yr old female, I have had 3 kidney transplants- also a transplant nephrectomy, bilateral natural nephrectomy- peritoneal dialysis catheter in and out about 3 times- Can no long do PD due to scarring from peritonitis. I am now 4 years post transplant with a creatnine of 1.5- 1.9. I am trying to get pregnant with no success. I menstrual cycle is normal and I do ovulate. Could my scarring be so bad that it may have physically impaired my ability to conceive?
Doctor :   Hi
User :   hi there
Doctor :   kindly give some time to read you post and help you well
User :   sure
Doctor :   The conception can occur without obstackle
User :   you dont think I have too much scare tissue?
Doctor :   but you problem can hinder the development of the foetus
User :   I have had about 8 abdominal-pelvic surgeries
User :   could the scar tissue have moved my my ovary so the egg isn't getting to the tube?
User :   ?
Doctor :   There are fair enough chances for that
User :   which means what?
User :   how would that get diagnosed?
User :   would I feel it?
User :   can they tell by manual examination?
Doctor :   but not to the extent of becoming infertile
Doctor :   No the scars are formed in the form of bands between the internal organs
User :   could that move my ovaries?
User :   would an ultrasound show a misplaced overy or tube?
Doctor :   yes there are possibilities
Doctor :   it could be made out with an USG scan of abdomen
User :   I have had several ultrasounds and all came back normal
User :   I did take 100 mg of clomid one month and my ovary was measdured at 11 com-- is that bad?
Doctor :   Then thats a good sign
Doctor :   Is it 11mm ?
User :   centimeters i mean
User :   oh maybe
User :   they said it was big
User :   like a orange
User :   is that normal for being on clomid?
Doctor :   Any more description about the appearance of the ovaries was mentioned ?
User :   they said it looked like a hemorragic cyst
User :   ?
User :   non complicated
User :   i think
Doctor :   Clomid induces ovulation , its a method of artificial induction of ovulation .
User :   right.....would that have caused the cyst?
Doctor :   where the findings both sides same ?
User :   no left was fine---the exact thing they said was "10 cm multioculated cystic mass"
Doctor :   Yes, but very rarely such problems can occur with ovulation iduction
User :   so what is a multioculated cyst?
Doctor :   its where in the ovary contains hallow spaces containing fluid ( sometimes blood as in hemorrhagic cyst) may be multiple or solitary
User :   what causes that?
Doctor :   repeated induction of the ovulation can be a cause and also the hormonal imbalance can be considered more common cause
User :   so should i stop clomid?
Doctor :   Since you have gone through repeated surgeries such hormonal imbalance can be expected rlated to stress
User :   so what should my next step be?
Doctor :   Can you tel me the dosage and course you are on
User :   yes
User :   prednisone5mg
User :   prograf 3 mg
User :   that all the transplant drugs
User :   I take pepcid and lopressor for BP
Doctor :   ok,
User :   and 300 mg of welbutrin
Doctor :   you can continue on prednisone5mg prograf 3 m pepcid and lopressor and welburtin as wel
Doctor :   but clomid has a course to followed after which you have to go for a follicular scan
Doctor :   which will determine the development of the ovum
User :   the cycst I had went away on its own
Doctor :   on every alternate day
Doctor :   ya , most of them are reversible and recurring
User :   ok well I see time is almost up--ty for your help
Doctor :   about 40% of normally ovulating women can have cysts
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting , login anytime for help,
User :   thankx have a good one
Doctor :   kindly provide your feedback
User :   sure
Doctor :   Bye for now
