User:This is the first time I am using this feature on this site, so, I am not sure if I have come to the right area...
Doctor:Can you tell me what you are looking for?
User:I had a couple of questions with regards to my experience with a recent wisdom tooth extraction, now, I am not sure about your specialty, is there a way you'll be able to help me with my questions?
Doctor:I am a General Practitioner. I will try to help you out within my expertise. If it seems you require further referral, I can surely guide you for the same.
User:Sure...thanks, here are my concerns...
User:I had a rather painful procedure Wednesday last in extracting my wisdom tooth which was only part visible
User:Now, more than 4 days hence, I still have the same amount of pain and the pain is more pronounced around the lower jaw (the tooth was extracted from my lower left) so much so that I find it difficult to even open my mouth
User:is this something normal..?
Doctor:The pain can persist for 4-6 days usually.
Doctor:But if associated with any pus from the site or with difficulty in opening the mouth, you may have to be reviewed by the dentist.
Doctor:You can use warm water mixed with salt to gargle.
User:Oh, my case, the pain in the jaw is more pronounced than the pain at the site of the procedure...So, you advise that I get it reviewed by my dentist again..?
Doctor:That will reduce the swelling and pain.
Doctor:Analgesics like Paracetamol can relieve your pain.
Doctor:Are you on any antibiotics now?
User:Yes, I was on Antibiotics (I was prescribed Augmentin), till yesterday..But, I am still on analgesics as I am not able to bear the pain otherwise
Doctor:Are you doing gargles with saline water?
User:Not yet, I wasnt aware I could try it, maybe, Ill give it a try few times till I dentist again, hopefully, it will help with the pain a bit
Doctor:Sure it will.
User:Alright Thanks for your time and your advise, I appreciate your help!
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Hope I have been able to alleviate your concerns.
User:Sure, You have a great day ahead...
Doctor:Thanks for using this platform.
Doctor:You too have a great day.
Doctor:Bye for now.
