Whatc auses persistent vomiting? - Online Doctor Chats
I have been struggling with vomitings from the last 2 years.. was under medication for almost an year..also consulted few gastroenterologits . but no luck...
but none of the reports show any problem... still problem persists..
could you please suggest me on how to proceed?
I went through hernia surgery 2 years ago.. since then this problem started
What does the vomit look like?
What is the colour of the vomit?
whenever i eat heavy food i vomit
and it happens once or twice a week
Does it have mucous in it?
sorry.. mucous means?
Mucous means thick slimy secretions
Something like a discharge
not exactly sure.. but mostly i vomit exactly 2 to 3 hrs after having food
once i vomited, nausea feeling also goes away.. and feel relaxed
It seems like some kind of obstruction
Did something show up?
but after looking at my reports, doctor told to avoid aerated drinks..and said that i have ulcers
nothing else was mentioned
Can you tell me the report of the ultrasound?
color doppler and ultra sound findings are within normal limits
In my opinion there may be some mild inflammation somewhere in git
colonoscpoy says : edematous mucosal antral folds multiple superficial ulcers wirh mild nodularity in the antrum and prepylori c area
impression : chronic active gasttritis
It may have happened after taking antibiotics and pain killers after hernia surgery
The surgery itself has not caused it
but i vomit mostly when i overeat
that too once or twice a week
Since it is long term
I will suggest that you take care of it with lifestyle measures like drinking cleanest water
from RO system
can this be cured completely?
It can get better with lifestyle
You will need to avoid exposure to germs
You will also need to avoid pain killers and other medicines that can cause gastritis
Sometimes H pylori bacteria is associated with it, but it shows up on biopsy
In your case it did not show up
Protein rich food and high calorie foods can be taken to increase wieght
High calorie foods include milk products like cheese, butter , ghee etc
ok..what kind of foods shold not be taken to avoid gastritis??
Spicy foods to be avoided
Bland foods to be taken, fruits and vegetables are good
Regular small meals can be taken
how can this be monitored??
endoscopy is the best test
But you donot need to repeat it unless it is really needed
It wont show up on other tests
Another way is to keep a track of your symptoms
if you feel you are getting better, it means that the condition is improving
Do you have any other question?
thats pretty much..
Hope my suggestions help you
should i use antacids and sulfacrade?
Sucralfate is good to treat the ulcers
antacids are good to improve the acidity
