Doctor:Hi XXXXXXX
Doctor:How may I help you?
User:hi
User:i am preg for 21 weeks
User:a pest control is done in my office what precautions hsould i take
Doctor:How long ago was the fumigation done?
User:24 hrs
Doctor:You would not happen to know which fumigation was done would you?
Doctor:As in, what chemical was used?
User:know i dont know
User:i was done for mosquitoes
Doctor:OK. Well, all commercial fumigants have to have a breakdown half life of no more than 6 hours. Otherwise they cannot be used on the market
Doctor:So 24 hours is 4 half lives and that brings the total concentration of remaining fumigant to less than 6% original level
User:i was not in office only for approx 1 hr only
Doctor:Theoretically, you need not take any precautions. But in your situation, I would ask them to let you stay out 1 more day
User:any impact on my baby
Doctor:The current set of commerically available fumigants are the same things that re used in those "All out" vaporizers and such
Doctor:They have never been shown to cause any damage to a developing baby
User:okwhat should i use for mosquitoes
User:in my home
Doctor:Honestly, if I were in this situation I would opt for a mosquito net
Doctor:Or use the "all out" for an hour or two and shut all the windows
Doctor:please don't use the coils
Doctor:and don't use the sprays
Doctor:Does that make any sense?
User:no no sense of using the coils & sprays,
User:i would go for mosquitoes net
Doctor:very good
Doctor:I think that is best
User:yes
Doctor:Is there anything else I can help you with?
User:what should i use for cold
User:blocked chest with cough
Doctor:How long have you had this?
User:its about 10 days
Doctor:Ok, have you taken any antibiotics?
Doctor:Or have you tried steam inhalation?
User:i take steam
User:no medicines
Doctor:Ok. That will help a bit. It may be time to try an antibiotic. I know that an antibiotic called Augmentin (generic is Amoxycillin/Clavulinic acid) is safe in pregnancy and commonly given
User:ok
Doctor:You can call your OBGYN and discuss using it with them
User:alright
User:thanks doctor
Doctor:It's a safe drug. Has been used on many pregnant women for many many years
Doctor:Always Happy to Help!
Doctor:Anything else I can help you with?
User:no thanks
User:bye
Doctor:Take care and I wish you the best in your future family
User:thanks & bye
