Doctor:please proceed with your query
User:i have had a blocked nose since i cought cold this season more than a month back
User:this is unusual for me
Doctor:did you use any nasal drops?
User:because normally i have a blocked nose only during the time i have cold
User:unfortunately otrivin for more than a month now
User:which i know is not desirable
Doctor:all right
Doctor:did you take steam inhalation as well?
User:this has happened twice during this year
User:but never happened before
Doctor:may I know your age?
User:i have taken just once or twice in the last month
Doctor:I would suggest that you take steam inhalation daily for a month
User:my nasal bone is slightly deviated
Doctor:there is no need to take otrivin
Doctor:that is the reason for blocked nose
User:and have been operated once
User:but no major improvement
Doctor:oh is that so?
Doctor:sorry about that
User:operated for the nasal bone
Doctor:but deviated nasal septum does cause such problems
Doctor:unfortunately, it seems like the surgery has not worked for you either
User:yes thats the case
User:is there a need to see an ENT
Doctor:Why don't you discuss with your treating doctor about a revision surgery?
Doctor:if that is going to help
User:i confirm that last time when blockage happened
User:around three months back steam inhalation worked
User:but I also used to put some mustard oil inside nose
User:i dont know if thats advisable but it worked along with steam
Doctor:steam inhalation is definitely the treatment of choice for blocked nose
Doctor:I am unaware if mustard oil works
Doctor:I do not use it in my practice
Doctor:I am sorry about that
User:so ill take steam inhalation
User:thats ok Doctor thanks for your concern
User:once a day
Doctor:thrice a day is ideal
Doctor:but twice a day is good too
Doctor:once a day is not going to benefit you much
User:but myy query why it is happening more frequently now
User:infact never happened before
Doctor:it is because of the deviated nasal septum that is probably not corrected surgically
User:but why after 8 years since my surgery
User:i was operated in 2005
Doctor:it may be due to change in immunity in your body
Doctor:or change of external environment
User:and doctor i couldn't sleep last night coz i didnt take otrivin
User:i had steam inhalation for half an hour
Doctor:nothing can be concluded though without a physical examination
User:last nihht but no otrivin
Doctor:do not take otrivin
Doctor:try only the steam inhalation with karvol plus nasocaps in the water
User:okay I'll have steam inhalation twice a day with karvol plus nasocaps in the water
User:but would you suggest any quick relief remedy so i can atleast sleep
User:im on sick leave today because i slept in the wee hours
Doctor:You can take a tablet of Cetrizine 10mg at bed time for better sleep
Doctor:take care
Doctor:and get well soon
User:and this is just that i sleep well and is not a remedy?
User:sorry is ask too much ques
User:thanks Doctor
User:appreciate your help
User:take care
Doctor:my pleasure
