Doctor:How can I help?
User:Hi, I've just done a diabetes test and wanted some advice on if the values represent diabetes or normal result
User:My Plasma Glucose Fasting is 111 mgs / dl. and Plasma Glucoe Postpardial is 120 mgs/dl.
User:it'll be really nice if you can help me with if this is normal or does this show diabetes.
Doctor:Postprandial is normal
Doctor:Fasting is a little over the edge
Doctor:Though I am not worried about it
Doctor:It is just a single reading
Doctor:It is quite possible that you did not fast for enough time or have been having high sugar food
User:what is the usual duration you should fast before the test?
Doctor:It should be atleast 8 hours
User:oh ok. would you recommend another reading or is this fine?
Doctor:You can repeat the reading in 2 weeks
Doctor:If it is positive then I would recommend oral glucose tolerance test
User:I'll get that done as well.
Doctor:You may take a low sugar diet in the meanwhile
User:sure. will do. thanks so much for your help with this.
Doctor:Thanks for consulting
