User:Hi
User:i am XXXX my question is to interpret the results of AMH Values
Doctor:One moment, let me take a look
User:I had 5 IUI , 1 ICSI failed in past , at present am using anti-tuberculosis medicines for uterine tuberculosis since 2 months
User:Before IUI procedure - AMH : 5.3
User:Just before ICSI Procedure , AMH = 1.3
User:Soon after 1 month of IVF Failure , AMH = 6.29
Doctor:i see
Doctor:Well, the basic idea behind the AMH levels is that they tend to decrease if the number of viable ova (eggs) in the ovaries has decreased
User:and the new doctor said that this much fluctuations would not be there with AMH values , so she suggested to get this tested in NABL Accredited organization
Doctor:I was about to say, the level should remain constant over such short periods of time
User:So, I did this test now, this is showing up 11.1
User:which one is correct
Doctor:That's an amazingly high number. It''s basic interpretation means that you have a very healthy set of OVA ready for fertilization
User:if that measure is accurate we can say that
Doctor:That, i have no way of knowing. Going to a well accredited lab, just means that they are less likely to be wrong about these things
User:but am not able understand which one is correct
User:This test is costly too if i have to go through that once again
Doctor:I know, i think it would be better if you asked the doctor who ordered the test. I never order this test, so I don't know which labs are good and which are not in this regard
Doctor:I seriously doubt that you will need to do that again. I don't see what it would gain you
User:actually, planning to go to US for 1 year, but before that if my health condition is ok other than TB medication
User:i would plan to buy 6 months of TB medication , and try a natural way of concieving
User:as doctor said, AMH levels should be good enough to get pregnancy
User:before making a decision to travel or not, i tried this test to be done on my own
Doctor:I think you have a good plan, but make sure you take a prescription for all the TB medication or customs officials in the USA might not let it through
User:otherwise, i will sit back in XXXXXXX , and go for another ICSI soon after my TB medication is over
Doctor:Well, this test was a spectacular success.
User:okay
Doctor:So, i think you can travel.
User:Thank you!!
User:IS it ok if i try for pregnancy during TB medication as well?
Doctor:No problem
Doctor:NO!!!!!
User:2 months of medication is over (monto-4)
Doctor:DO NOT TRY TO GET PREGNANT WHILE ON TB MEDS
User:now using RFE-HD
Doctor:the baby would be at high risk for Neural tube deformations due to the INH medication
User:ok ok
Doctor:i understand. but please.. don;t risk it
Doctor:not worth it
User:ok ok
Doctor:wait a good 4 months after the stoppage of the TB meds
User:okay
User:am already 34 yrs old, and my husband 37yrs
User:so, thinking that it is too late..
User:but as u said, i would take risk
Doctor:Why?
User:i would not take risk
Doctor:Did someone tell you you cant get pregnant at this age?
User:number of eggs production will go down right?
Doctor:There is risk with the TB meds and getting pregnant. But many people conceive hapy healthy children well into their 40's
User:ok
Doctor:You still have a few hundred thousand packed away in there at this age.
Doctor:How many kids do you want? :-)
User:my ICSI doctor disappointing me saying that you won't get it easily, if you don't do another cycle of ICSI
Doctor:True, in your 20's you had millions.. but all you need is one to be fertilized
Doctor:Well, see they are the experts. I'm a neurologist by training
Doctor:So i couldn't argue with what they said. I would encourage you to get a second opinion though
User:sure
User:but she didn't tried to know the root cause of ivf failure
Doctor:i see
User:i went to another doctor and got my endometrial biopsy done by doing lot of surfing in internet
User:and came to know that i have uterus tuberculosis
Doctor:i see
User:anyways
User:Thanks for the valuable answers
Doctor:no problem
User:Thanks a lot
User:Bye
Doctor:Thanks for visiting me here. Bye for now.
