User:Hi Doctor
Doctor:Hi, I am Dr. XXXXXXX
Please proceed with your query
User: i have query regarding my 18 month old daughter
Doctor:Proceed with the question.
User:i have noticed for few days now that she is scratching her privates
User:we did check the area but we dint find any kind of discharge or reddening
User:and she does not have problem while urinating also
User:but she will scartch it or use objects to move aroud the area
User:please could you suggest what can be wrong
Doctor:since when is she having this symptom?
User:from a week now
User:when she is playing she forgets
User:when she is sitting idle she will do it
Doctor:The itching may be from infection, allergy or due to non concerning condition.
Doctor:Without associated complaints it is difficult to presume what could be causing this problem if at all it is indeed a problem.
Doctor:If you are using diapers, I would suggest you to try not using it
Doctor:or changing to a different size or brand
User:no..we are not using diapers
Doctor:if you don't use diaper, check if you are using any other cosmetic such as powder.
User:she will usually wear her pants and if she wets it i will immediately change it
User:does the itching occur if soap is applied near the area
Doctor:Sometimes wrong cleaning procedure while cleaning her after stools may be the cause.
Doctor:Make those changes and observe.
Doctor:If symptoms persist or if you notice rashes
User:such can we clean her
Doctor:you need to consult a pediatrician.
User:after passing stools
Doctor:You need to clean her away from the genital regions.
User:ok..and does soap also cause itching
Doctor:Some mothers ignore this and clean towards genital area thereby introducing infection into the urinary cavity.
Doctor:Soap may or may not be the cause.
User:but is soap safe to use to clean the around the area
Doctor:Right now when there are no objective signs such as rashes it is extremely difficult to confirm the cause as infection or allergy.
Doctor:Use a mild soap only. You can use those made for children only.
Doctor:Check for irritation whenever you use a new product.
User:we were using XXXXXXX baby soap
User:but some time back she developed itching near neck area
User:so doctor changed the soap to neoscab
Doctor:It is too early to presume allergy causes based on this symptoms alone. At least without examination I would not be able to confirm the relation to soap.
Doctor:I would just suggest you to use simple plain water to clean the area for next two days
User:sure..will do that
Doctor:if the symptoms stops, then perhaps its from the soap.
Doctor:Do you have any more questions?
User:no doctor..thank you for your time
Doctor:Thanks for visiting me here. Bye for now.
