User:How are you?
Doctor:Im good
Doctor:How are you doing?
User:I am okay. Thanks!
Doctor:How can I help?
User:I frequently fall sick.. May be like once in 2 months or so.. this has been the case from past 6 months
User:Generally I get fever followed by cough, cold and head ache
User:I feel it's because of my immunity problems..
Doctor:What other symptoms do you have?
User:No other symptoms.
Doctor:How high is the fever?
User:It won't be high.. I feel feverish when it starts.. gradually temperature increases but it won't be high.. and will be there for 3 to 4 days and will go off.. I generally take paracetamol and anitbiotic..
Doctor:It seems like a recurrent viral
Doctor:You are correct in guessing that it may be due to low immunity
Doctor:You may get some tests done to check for immunity
Doctor:The tests can include cbc, immunoglobulin levels etc
Doctor:Antibiotics are usually not indicated unless it is documented to be bacterial
User:so I shouldn't be taking them often..
Doctor:Antibiotics play a role in reducing immunity by altering normal flora
User:oh ok
Doctor:Please avoid taking antibiotics unless your immunity is not able top take care of the infection and it is bacterial in nature
User:Okay.. how do I know that? Whether it is bacterial or viral..
Doctor:Characteristics of sputum can be assessed by a doctor
User:Currently I have fever and it is not high.. I have just taken paracetamol in the afternoon
Doctor:sputum culture etc can also be done in tests
Doctor:It is okay to take paracetamol
Doctor:Most viral infections get better on their own in 5 - 10 days
Doctor:You may take your own precautions like
User:Shall I give it time and just take paracetamol when fever increases
Doctor:If fever is less than 100 you may just wait and watch
Doctor:if more than 100, then you can take paracetamol
User:I am sure it is less than 100
User:most of the times just feverish and how abt cold?
Doctor:If you are not very uncomfortable because of it, then you may not take paracetamol
Doctor:For cold and runny nose
Doctor:take tab cetirizine 1 tab before sleeping
Doctor:It is an antiallergic that reduces the secretions in cold and cough as well
User:okay.. won't it make mucus thick?
Doctor:Yes mucus will thicken and then clear in a few days
Doctor:that is the normal course
Doctor:Do yo get allergies or asthma?
User:Whenever I get cold, sometimes when it is high.. I will have wheezing..
User:this time looks like allergy.. I am able to breathe normally
User:Just have cold and running nose
Doctor:Wheezing may be due to infection of the respiratory tract
Doctor:if no fever than it is allergy
Doctor:Cetrizine should help
User:ok I will take Cetrizine.. How many days should I take?
Doctor:Take it whenever you have symptoms
Doctor:Its not taken in a course like antivbiotics
