User:I have noticed on my bottom and top lips I have areas that are purple. Not the whole lips just part of them. I am having no trouble breathing and just had cardio chevk and all is good. .
Doctor:Do you smoke ?
User:Quit 8 yesrs ago and dont know if this has been like this for a ehile or not jud
User:Just noticed a few days ago
Doctor:What you have could be keratosis of the lip mucosa
User:Whats that
Doctor:It is seen in people with chronic smoking or deficiency of Vitamin A and other Bcomplex vitamins
Doctor:In here the top most layer of the lip gets increased keratin deposit
User:Is it serious
Doctor:Keratin is released in moderate amounts to make the skin tough and protect against the gain of bacteria and other offending agents
Doctor:No, need not worry
Doctor:Its not serious
Doctor:taking multivitamin supplements will help to get rid of the same
User:If it was something with oxygen isdue the whole lips would be blue correct ?
Doctor:The entire lips along with finger nails and palm go blue
Doctor:If it is due to low oxygen
Doctor:Are you there ?
User:Cool that makes me feel better.. I dont have those. Its just like a line from corner of mouth out to almost center of lip but only so wide on both dides of lips
Doctor:in that case it may most probably be due to vitamin deficiency
User:Hard to describe too bad csnt attach pic here! Lol
