User:Hi Doctor..
Doctor:Hi
Doctor:
Please proceed with your query
User:I would request for clarification for high RBC count in the blood test CBP..
Doctor:May I know the value?
User:5.38
Doctor:And who ordered the test?
User:I had undergone the test as part of my pre-concenceival plan as per fertility specialist
Doctor:Ok
Doctor:Let me brief you.
Doctor:As per my knowledge, red blood cell count of 5.38 is under normal limit.
Doctor:The reference range in most XXXXXXX laboratory is million cells per cubic mm.
User:ok but the report says the resulted value of out of range
Doctor:And value between 3.5 to 5.5 is considered normal.
Doctor:May I know what was the reference range given with the report.
Doctor:*reference range is between 4.5 to 5.5 million cells / cumm with most laboratories.
Doctor:I consider your RBC numbers as normal.
User:reference range is given as 3.8-4.8
Doctor:As per my awareness, the reference range was upto 5.5.
Doctor:That's fine.
Doctor:Anyway, marginal rise in red blood counts can occur due to dehydration and other physical parameters.
Doctor:you need not be outrightly worried.
Doctor:You can repeat the red blood cell counts perhaps in another laboratory say 2 weeks later.
Doctor:We can take this forward based on the second report.
Doctor:Have you followed?
Doctor:Do you have any questions?
User:one last question pls
User:ESR is 22
User:and referred as out of range too
User:pls suggest
Doctor:Normal ESR value is below 20.
Doctor:You have a borderline high ESR value.
Doctor:Further ESR less than 100 is rarely concerning.
Doctor:So don't worry about this number too.
Doctor:Hope I am clear.
Doctor:Do you have any more questions?
User:ok..yes clear thank you....but I have several symptoms that are making me worried
Doctor:What symptoms are you worried about?
User:dark face...brownish whereas it was whitish before....a very heavy abdomen....losing seses of hands...legs at a times
Doctor:These symptoms are not related to the lab values.
User:ok.
Doctor:Face discoloration if that is uniform is generally related to sun exposure.
Doctor:The other symptoms you described can have various reasons including anxiety.
User:ok.
Doctor:your treating doctor who has examined you will be able to suggest the reasons and its treatment.
Doctor:As far as the lab values are concerned,
Doctor:they are not related and not concerning.
Doctor:Hope it is clear.
Doctor:Do you have any more questions?
User:Thank u
Doctor:Thanks for visiting me here. Bye for now.
