What can be done to get relief from back pain? - Online Doctor Chats
I had a query regarding my wife
please go ahead
she is 27 yrs old. From last couple of days she is having back pain. she is having a boutique and she needs to do cloth cutting work for long hours during the day
her weight is 63 kgs with a height of 140cms.
can you help me in this regard?
Back pain is usually temporary and goes down with pain-killers
the height and weight is approx. doctor.
will you please advise some?
140 cm is very low height
I think she should first try brufen 200 mg 2 - 3 times a day
sorry doc. the height is not 140 but its 151 approx.
so her BMI is around 27.6
It is in the category of overweight
Reducing the weight will help her
For back pain
Other things that she needs is
to give her back adequate rest and movement
It means that she should not sit continuously for long hours
she needs to keep moving around
For sleep she needs to use a mattress that is neither hard nor very soft
The mattress should adjust according to the contour of the back
Are you there?
yes.she does the cutting work standing for long hours during the day. again after can this be a reason
yes t can be
since she may be bending forward and staying in one position for long time
She also needs regular exercise at least 20 min a day
ok. how to take the medicine? I mean before food or after?
Preferably after food
Do not take it empty stomach
how many kgs she needs to loose approximatly?
It should be taken only if pain is present
she is also having a bit acidity problem. can she take this class of pain killer?
43 to 57 is ideal weight for her height
In that case the pain-killer can make the acidity worse
she is using hot water bag from last 2-3 days but did not get fav. result.
is there any alternative medicine?
All pain-killers will give acidity
Oe option is to go for antacids along with medicine
Another option is to ad dmisoprostol
sorry it is misoprostol
but it has some side-effects and is not the first option
she should also be checked for serum calcium and vit D levels
ok. but what is misoprostol ? Is it a tab? what shall I tell the chemist?
Yes it is a tablet
you will need a prescription for it
a written prescription
you should first try antacids like pantoprazole
ok.. that means your suggestion is to take brufen 200 mg with pantoprazole.
for now that seems the best option
Which medicine is she taking for acidity
then she can take aciloc and brufen
no need for pantoprazole
or some times Litacid gel- an antacid after food.
The gel has to be taken whenever she has acidity
If this gel fails to control acidity then aciloc should be taken
or sometimes aciloc is prescribed for daily use
