User :   I'm 34 years old and 4 weeks pregnant. I've been on high blood pressure medication for probably 10 years. (hereditary)
Obviously, with my pregnancy, my medication was changed, and I was taken off of a it's only been two days, but I've gained 10 lbs! This can't be normal. I've been drinking 2 litres of just water per day, and this is NOT including water from fruits/veggies/and drinks with meals. Please help!
User :   Hello?
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :
let me read
Doctor :
weight gain of 10lbs in 2 days?
User :   YES!
Doctor :
do you have swelling of feet?
User :   It's been since the meds changed
User :   my ankles and calves feel a little tight
Doctor :
if you press the skin around the ankle for a minute does the dimple caused by pressing occurs and if so how long it takes to disappear ?
User :   As soon as I let go it disappears
Doctor :
Doctor :   what was the the previous blood pressure reading
User :   I'm currently taking it four times per day, and the last one was at 130PM and it was 123/78
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   do you have any difficulty in breathing ?
User :   no
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :
the diuretics do cause some defects in the growing fetus and hence these drugs are not safe
Doctor :   in pregnancy certain medications will be avoided and control of the pressure is obtained bu other medications
Doctor :
as such you have only weigh gain which is 10lbs with in 2 day with no other symptoms
Doctor :
this is unusual
Doctor :
you need to get checked with your gynecologist
User :   OK
User :   Will the water eventually come out? I've been using the restroom frequently...probably at least 6 times today
Doctor :   i don't see any accumulation of water in your system
Doctor :   you dont have swelling of feet, breathing difficulty
User :   what would it mean if I was having trouble breathing?
Doctor :   if there is water accumulation in your body it will show off in the legs in the form of swelling and in lungs
Doctor :
if water is there in lungs
Doctor :
you will get breathing difficulty
User :   But my calves are...that's not the same as my feet? Concern wise?
Doctor :
but you don't have pitting edema
User :   I don't understand
Doctor :   when i asked you to press and hold it did not remain right
User :   no...not in my ankle...I'll try to get to a doctor tomorrow...just to be safe
Doctor :   i suggest you to visit your gynecologist and get an evaluation done for the rapid weight gain
