Doctor:Good Afternoon
User:good afternoon
Doctor:Please proceed with your query.
User:i wanted to ask why it hurts when we have a wisdon tooth, how long would the pain last?
Doctor:The wisdom tooth as you know erupts the last, after all other teeth has erupted.
Doctor:Normally when it erupts there would be no much pain.
User:thank you
Doctor:But since it is at the end of the jaw, and if there is no much space there,
Doctor:it gets blocked by the tooth in front of it.
Doctor:Then it causes inflammation around the area and causes pain.
Doctor:Or if the position of the teeth is slightly changed, like in
Doctor:horizontal position, instead of vertical position,
Doctor:it gets trapped in the jaw.
Doctor:Then it would be called as an impacted third molar.
Doctor:In those cases, it would be required to relieve the tooth from its position.
Doctor:Until it is removed, it causes pain.
User:thank you for your reply
Doctor:So, to see if it is just a wisdom tooth erupting, or if it is an impacted tooth
Doctor:you can use warm salt water gargling, to relieve of the symptoms
Doctor:If it does not relieve, then you will have to visit a dentist for evaluation.
Doctor:Are you following me XXXXXX
User:yes i do
Doctor:Is there anything else I could assist you with?
User:no. that will be all
User:thank you
Doctor:Ok. Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Please let me know if any further help is required.
