Doctor:How can I help you?
User:I am XXXXXX Hre
User:I am over weight
User:my relative advised to take Herbal life products to reduce weight
User:is it advisable
Doctor:Any products advertised on internet, television or any other means have no scientific data proving its benefits.
Doctor:As far as science is concerned, there are no evidence that diet and exercise help.
Doctor:However some anecdotal reports claim that certain products have benefited its users.
User:do be diplomatic
User:i meant your answer is diplomatic
Doctor:So you may take those products provided none of those ingredients do not cause general health problems.
Doctor:Herbal life products seems to be one such product.
Doctor:So my suggestion to you is you may use them.
Doctor:But also follow a healthy diet
Doctor:and exercise.
User:doesnt help
Doctor:Dietary changes and exercise do not produce instant results.
Doctor:Those may take few months (3-6 months) to show some changes.
Doctor:Persistence and regularity is the key here.
User:my hair fall increased too much
User:can you please what needs to be done
Doctor:May I know your age and gender?
Doctor:And since when are you facing this issue?
Doctor:Has this problem been recent in nature or you have had this issue since a while?
Doctor:May I know approximately how many strands of hair do you lose in a day?
User:than usual
Doctor:Let me explain.
Doctor:Hair falls as a natural process. Old hair fall off and new ones come. If a person loses less than 100 hairs per day it is consider part of this natural cycle. Therefore normal.
Doctor:So please do measure the amount of hair lost in a day if possible.
Doctor:That being said, if the hair fall is very recent, say few days
Doctor:then it is most like due to acute causes
Doctor:such as a recent infection, stress changes - new place, change of diet/water etc.
Doctor:Scalp infections and dandruff are few causes.
Doctor:Chronic hair fall where symptoms have been years together have genetic reasons along with multiple other factors.
Doctor:What I suggest to (apart from measuring the hair lost) are as follows:
Doctor:1. Manage your stressors adequately by means of regular diet, regular sleep and physical exercise.
Doctor:2. Take tablet biotin forte once a day for a month.
Doctor:3. Use a good antidandruff shampoo such as Nizoral or 8x shampoo.
Doctor:(both these should be available at a nearby chemist/pharmacy)
User:I use Dove shampoo
Doctor:twice or thrice a day shampooing for 3-6 weeks should be sufficient.
Doctor:* I am unaware of the contents of DOVE, however
Doctor:the shampoo I suggested are medicated shampoos
Doctor:which have proven results in controlling dandruff and hair fall.
Doctor:4. Eat good and healthy diet. Root vegetables (which grow under the soil) are known to contain good minerals and vitamins including selenium.
Doctor:They are known to be good for hair health.
Doctor:5. Avoid brushing / combing wet hair.
User:thank you
Doctor:If your problem persist despite the above measures,
Doctor:you may consult a dermatologist who
Doctor:can prescribe you a solution called minoxidil.
Doctor:When used under the guidance of a doctor, it should surely take care of hair issues.
Doctor:*Do not try this without the guidance/monitoring of a doctor.
Doctor:Hope this suffices.
Doctor:Do you have any other query?
User:one of the doctor from Health magic suggested me to use neutrogena and cetaphil
User:after using my skin went dark
User:and everybody started asking why your looking dull
User:so i stopped using the product
User:I started using fair n lovely
User:But many say fair n lovely is not a good product to be used
User:what would you advise
Doctor:Sorry, I am not aware of any such claims. There were few reports which were concerning, but I am not aware of that being proved scientifically.
Doctor:However any product when over used can be harmful
Doctor:as human skin is designed as per the genes.
Doctor:If your interest is lightening the skin colour/tone, the most effective remedy advised by dermatologist is
Doctor:a. A good sunscreen
Doctor:b. Moisturizer.
Doctor:As the above do not produce instant results you may use any other product (herbal or medicated) for a short while and later switch on to the above.
Doctor:I suggest consulting a dermatologist (either personally or online - via healthcaremagic) can help you.
User:Thank you very much:)
Doctor:Do you have any other query?
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Bye for now.
