User :   Hello
Doctor :   Hi,
User :   My 8 month old son has a heart rate of around 168 bpm, volmiting comes and goes, fever upto 103 and diharriah. We think it might be just a little stomach flu, since its going around, but wanted you advice. We are usin pedialite for hydration. He dose good at keeping it down somtime but vomits others. just want to know if it will be ok till morning, best poss. treatments. anything will help. Thanks
Doctor :   Yes, you are right , It could be stomach flu with above symtoms
Doctor :   do not give the re-hydrating fluids in bouts, do it with a spoon and do not give more than 15 to 20 ml at once.Do repeat every 15 min
Doctor :   loading the stomach may induce vomiting
Doctor :   temperature is not serious, you can add syp Tylenol if the fever seems to be rising
Doctor :   do not feel any foods untill the vomiting stops
User :   awesome.. what about dress... clothes off, or what?
Doctor :   better clothes off, as this will help in dissipation oh heat into air
Doctor :   or you can dress him on some cotton clothes
User :   ok... any other advice?
Doctor :   with the above treatment i would consider him to get better by tomorrow
Doctor :   fever is the sign of active infection
Doctor :   hence if the fever is not down by tomorrow then he may be needing antibiotic cover
User :   ok
Doctor :   Is there anything i can help you with ?
User :   i think thats it
User :   thank you doctor
