User :   Hello,I noticed a strange spot on my back and would love to show it to a doctor, I have a picture of it online, it is possible for you to look at it?

User :   I noticed it yesterday at night
User :   it's on my spine around my waist area, so it's not an easy accessible place
Doctor :   Do you have itching/burning sensation?
User :   I don't feel it at all
User :   it's around 4-5 mm in diameter

User :   I have some other spots, but nothing that has this "white top" on it

Doctor :   Let me explain it to you.
Doctor :   This depigmented spots may either be caused due to an infective cause or it just may be an area where the melanin content is lost.
Doctor :   Melanin content reduction causing depigmentation is termed as vitiligo.
Doctor :   Vitiligo is a bening lesion and does not need any treatment,
Doctor :   You may just have to observe for any other likely secondary changes.
Doctor :   If they keep growing, you may need steroid therapy.
Doctor :   Hence, I would suggest you to consult a dermatologist for a proper physical evaluation, to differentiate among these two likely causes.

User :   Yes, thank you very much, I am relieved that you didn't identify as something completely horrible on the spot :)) I made an appointment for 2 weeks from now (the earliest available), so it puts me a ease for now
Doctor :   Yes, there are reports that excessive stress can have an aggravating role on these spots.
Doctor :   So I would suggest you to wait for the next 2 weeks.
Doctor :   In the mean time look for any changes that can occur.

Doctor :   Changes such as increase in the size of these spots, itching, burning sensations, loss of sensations around the affected areas.
Doctor :   if you find any such changes, you may have to report to your doctor immediately.
