I have a question. I have eplipsy and use the next medicine: Lamotrigine 50 mg and 100 mg.

I buy a vitamine or something source natural. The name of it is VINPOCETINE.
Can i use that with my Lamotrigine together?
User :   hi
Doctor :   Let me read it
Doctor :
This is a herbal drug which has no proper studies
User :   i have a weak concentration. I also am a student at university. I want things that improve my brains and concentration
Doctor :
on its importance for a person who is epileptic
User :   can i use it , you think
User :   will it be not danger with the medice that i use recently?
User :   lamotrigine
Doctor :   It may not cause any problem but there is no positive evidence to support its therapeutic role too
User :   is there a natural medine, i can use?
Doctor :
Any herbal medicine can interact with the Lamotrigione
User :   how do you mean?
User :   it can interact?
Doctor :
So you have to keep the medicine as low in number as possible when you are taking Lamotrigine
Doctor :
Vinpocetine is marketed in North XXXXXXXX as a supplement that can boost memory and brain function in healthy people, but there is no real evidence yet that it can help.
User :   it is Vinpocetine has 10 mg
Doctor :   Yes
User :   okay, do you have another things that can help?
User :   for brains
Doctor :   let me know few things
Doctor :
What is your age?
User :   25
Doctor :
When were you diagnosed with Epilepsy?
User :   when i was 12
User :   before i used depacine
Doctor :
What were the medicines you used or prescribed by Doctor yet?
User :   1000 mg each day
Doctor :
Since when have you started Lamotrigine?
User :   now i use 50 mg Lamotrigine at day and 100 mg night
User :   7 years
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :
Though you might be worried about your low concentration
User :   yeah
Doctor :
the role of Vinpocetine for your problem is not substantial
User :   what can i use with this medicine to improve my motivation, concentration
User :   i think that the side effect of the lamotrigine has make my brains weak
Doctor :
More over the Lamotrigine continued use with out proper follow up with the Doctor after every 3 months can reduce the concentraton
Doctor :
Hence Lamotrigine dose should be adjusted frequently
Doctor :
once in 3 months
Doctor :
So do not forget to see the same Doctor once every 3 months or the follow up suggested by your Doctor
User :   my weight is 90 kilo, Has that effect on my sickness
Doctor :
Yes very much
User :   how?
Doctor :
It is said that people who are overweight or with fat accumulation has dropped concentration levels
User :   okay
Doctor :
So to ensure a good memory and concentration you should be physically active
Doctor :
with atleast 30 minutes of regular physical activity for 5 days a week
User :   there are not medines, you think?
User :   i go also to the gyme
User :   3 times at week
Doctor :
Ok other days try to work at your own pace
Doctor :
at home
User :   is coffee bad for me?
Doctor :
No you can have two cups of coffee per day?
User :   okay
Doctor :
It increases the concentration temporarily
User :   when this sickness is over, i mean when it is possible to stop with the medicine
Doctor :   Few things you should keep in mind
Doctor :
1) Any antiepileptic medicine should be slowly reduced before completely stopping
Doctor :
2) The drug stoppage or reduction in dose should be done by the Doctor who is treating you for the past 2 years
User :   when you are older i heard, eplipsy will go away, is that treu?
User :   do you hear of know another natural treatments or medicine for this sickness?
Doctor :
3) Usually the time the Doctor starts reducing the dose is when there is a seizure free period of atleast 2 years
Doctor :
4) Epilepsy goes away after proper use of medication with out fail and with proper timing
Doctor :
I am not sure of Natural treatment of Epilepsy
User :   can Lamotrigine make you bald?
User :   i lost many hair
User :   little bit bald
Doctor :
Yes there might be these kind of side effects but after stopping the drug you may regain the lost hair
Doctor :
I suggest you take a second opinion from a Neurologist
User :   can it come back?
Doctor :
Doctor :
You should get back your hair after you stop it
User :   so can lamotrigine make the body weak after many years using
Doctor :   yes but as I told you it needs constant monitoring with Drug levels in the blood
User :   or make the lever weak
User :   okay
User :   but i will use Vinpocetine, because i just buy it.
