User :   I had juvederm to my lip yesterday, and it seems my practitoner burst a vein. My lip is very black and bruised under my lip too. I am going to a wedding tommow and look awful. I have tried ice and arnica, is there anyhting else I can do? make up does not cover it. If not, how long will it take to go away as I am also going to meet my long distance partner on Sunday and I look awful
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hello
Doctor :   let me read your query
Doctor :   first may i know the size of the bruise ?
User :   its inside my mouth, over my lip, it takes up half of my bottom lip
User :   ther is another under my lip, but I can hide this one
User :   she said she had burst a vein. My lip is very very black
Doctor :   this is due to collection of blood in the subdutanoeous tissues
User :   what can I do to reduce this? to take away or help fade the blackness?
Doctor :   first u need to start with ice packs to reduce the amout of blood in the tissues
Doctor :   If you have the time, consider switching to a heated washcloth for a few minutes.
User :   I have done that and am continuing to do so
Doctor :   Heat works to dilate the blood vessels.
User :   I will try that
Doctor :   in addtion, do not take medications like aspirin
Doctor :   this will delay the healing
Doctor :   try tylenol instead
User :   I know that
Doctor :   Liquid concealers can then be used as they tend to work better than creams;
User :   what is Tylenol? i have not heard of it. I have no pain
Doctor :   acetaminophen
Doctor :   the drug name
User :   I promsise you, concealers of any type are not working. I have tried them all
User :   how long will it take to go away?
User :   I will use the ice and alternate that with the warm cloth and keep using the arnica
Doctor :   bruises will heal within 3-4 days
User :   even when this blacK?
Doctor :   the swelling will subside within 48-72 hrs
Doctor :   yes
User :   the swelling is going down now, its just the blackness of my lip
Doctor :   it will go away too as the body begins to remove the hemosiderin in the tissues
User :   is ther nothing else I can do to speed this up?
Doctor :   there are no medications that can be given to remove blood within cavity
User :   ok, thank you. i guess I am jsut going to have to wait it out. i thought there may be something other than what I was doing
Doctor :   if it could have been done , draining the blood by a syringe would have helped in the initial stages
User :   thanks
User :   bye
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   take care and have a great weekend
