User :   i recently got bit by a stray cat in thailand. it was very minor, bled a tiny bit but healed fully in 2 days. no symptoms and was a very small cut. should i worry
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   asia is a area that has prevalance of rabies
Doctor :   and hence you need to take precautions to get vaccinated for rabies
User :   it was two weeks ago
User :   and also any infection i get from a cat, can it be passed to another human
Doctor :   since there was bleeding, the risk and chances of infection increases
Doctor :   no it cannot be spread from person to person
Doctor :   can u tell me if the cat was vaccinated (was it a pet cat) ?
User :   it was a stray
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   cats can spread conditions like rabies, toxoplasmosis, and other animal borne infections
Doctor :   infections like rabies cant be spread by you
User :   what about other animal bourne diseases
Doctor :   toxoplasmosis is also not spread by humans
Doctor :   conditions like anthrax, typhoid , or bacterial infections can be spread by humans to humans
Doctor :   the scratch if was associated with Bleeding, then the chances of spread of infections like rabies increases
Doctor :   but if the wound has healed , and you or the cat that bit you, are healthy then the chances of infection is less
User :   what if i have no symptoms at all and it healed within 2 days? if it was minor are the chances of me not having anything good
Doctor :   everything depends on whether the cat was infective in the first place
Doctor :   if proper and effective wound care was given at the time of injury the risk of infection is reduced as well
User :   i washed it out but it really was so minor, looked more like a scratch
User :   should i be worrying this much, what are my chances
Doctor :   did u have it examined by a doctor at that point of time
User :   no :(
User :   my friend didnt think it necessary
User :   thats how minor it was
Doctor :   if the bleeding was minimal, then the chances are minimal
User :   very minimal
User :   how minimal are you talking percentage wise
Doctor :   then the risk may be less
User :   it was only bout half a cm in length
User :   and i think only one layer
Doctor :   then as i said earlier the risk is less
User :   so i will go to the docs tomo but do you think i will be ok? i just need reassurance til then
Doctor :   yes you will be fine , no need to panic at all
