User :   hi doc
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   I am Dr. xxxxxx
User :   i got alcoholic hepatitis due to excessive drinking ! but now i left it, so getting better
User :   i have a query about a medicine
User :   besides the regular vitamins etc., whenever the doctor gives gives an antibiotic etc he says he is giving a liver friendly anti-biotic
User :   to not further harm the liver
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   Many drugs are metabolised in liver
User :   occasionaly when i have abdomen pain, i used to eat proxyvon or something for it, but my doc strictly told me not to take it coz it has paracetamol which will not the liver heal
Doctor :   so those drugs should be avoided
Doctor :   and the dose should be less
User :   the normal limit is 4gms or paracetamol daily, and i eat max 1-2 tablets (1 gm) but still he tells me not to eat it
Doctor :   You can take pure paracetamol
Doctor :   you can take maximum 2000mg day
User :   and if i have fever or headache, he tells me to eat PARASAFE ! that has paracetamol and d-methicone or sumthing
Doctor :   you can take paracetamol 2000mg /day sadely
Doctor :   but conventionally it goes thru liver
User :   now my question is :- why is parasafe safe ?? although it has the same amount of paracetamol like other drugs say CROCIN (500 mg).
Doctor :   and any doctor giving suspects that it damages
Doctor :   you can even take crocin
Doctor :   only thing is you should not cross limits
Doctor :   max 2000mg/day
Doctor :   I give u 2 options
User :   number two : according to you paracetamol alone is ok in 2000 mg/ day !! so why not 5 capsules of spasmo-proxyvon capsule a day ?? ( 1 cap = 400 mg of paracetamol, so 5 is 2000 mg only)
Doctor :   1 drug metabolised in AAAAAAA
Doctor :   calculate paracetamol
Doctor :   u can take it
Doctor :   Are you habituated to take these medicines
Doctor :   Be honest
User :   3 years ago i was addicted to proxyvin yes
Doctor :   because I have concern abt ur health
User :   but since i left it, i eat only in pain
Doctor :   episodically it is ok
Doctor :   for 1 wk it is ok
User :   i get yr point about proxyvon addiction
Doctor :   research on paracetamol in alcoholic hepatitis is donr but it is of few months only
Doctor :   they defined the safe dose
Doctor :   As per FDA it is 2000mg/day
Doctor :   but conventioanally it it may be harmful
User :   ut my main question is :- why he says eat parasafe and not other paracetamol ???? there must be a reason ??? what does the d-meticone in parasafe do ????
Doctor :   Sir
User :   ?
Doctor :   why did not u ask the Q to ur doctor
User :   u can also tell me
Doctor :   i am trying
Doctor :   wait
User :   i mean it cant be his personal reasons ?? it has to be a medical reason
User :   its d-methionine
Doctor :   i am search for info
Doctor :   parasafe has ? paracetamol +
User :   d-methionine
User :   paracetamol 500 mg, d-methionine 50mg
Doctor :   d-methionine 50mg is a amono acid
User :   whatever it may be !! what does it do ???
Doctor :   help to maintain proper immune system and G.I. tract functions
User :   why is paracetamol with it in it, safer for liver than others ?
Doctor :   it has detoxification action
Doctor :   but it is individual preference
Doctor :   not research based
Doctor :   it is doctor preference
User :   hello again
Doctor :   yea I am here
User :   so excess of parasafe above 2000 mg / day is also harmful
User :   or can be harmful
Doctor :   yes
User :   ok !
Doctor :   lomg term use cause accumulation of drugs
Doctor :   *long
User :   and paracetamol alone below 2000 mg/day is fine ! so proxyvon 4 capsules a day is also fine for liver ? (if u leave the addiction part)
Doctor :   you can do experiment on you
Doctor :   and show the result to the world
Doctor :   What as a doctor I can do is I can advise
Doctor :   and give u facts
Doctor :   fact1 in one study: paracetamol is studies in liver patients
Doctor :   max safe dose is 2000mg
Doctor :   the study is of short duration
Doctor :   I will use this stuudy info to treat my patioent with paracetamol only for short term
Doctor :   may be 1 week
Doctor :   but not more than that
User :   so as a fact please tell me this :- paracetal alone or paracetamol with other drugs like in proxyvon capsules, both have the same paracetamol toxicity in liver ???
Doctor :   You can take paracetamol alone
Doctor :   or proxyvon
Doctor :   with paracetamol
Doctor :   but take it now and then
Doctor :   not daily for liefe
User :   i get it it
Doctor :   Thank you for consniulting
Doctor :   *consulting
User :   i mean paracetamol with something else mixed in the drug ??
Doctor :   yes
Doctor :   that is ok
User :   will not increase or decrease the limit of 2000 mg
Doctor :   but now and then
Doctor :   not in addicted fashion
User :   i mean ! paracetamol alone -- 2000mg / day short term !! paracetamol + sumthing else = 2000 mg/ day short time
User :   both same
User :   ??
Doctor :   y
Doctor :   Did I answer your question?
Doctor :   Do you follow me?
User :   also, now i eat diclofenac potassium for pain
Doctor :   So?
User :   is that safer than paracetamol ?? or that can also harm liver
Doctor :   diclofenac safer than paracetamol
Doctor :   it is metabolised in kidney
User :   diclofenac sodium and diclofenac potassium = both same for liver ?
Doctor :   y
User :   ?
Doctor :   y
User :   i know i am irritating u !! but thats my last Q
User :   diclofenac sodium and diclofenac potassium = both same for liver ?
Doctor :   no you are not
Doctor :   but the action of both medicines are same
Doctor :   just a sec
User :   potassium for quick relief ! sodium works slowly long time ! thats what i heard
Doctor :   Approximately half of the diclofenac is metabolised during its first passage through the liver.
User :   ok
Doctor :   but 100 % paracetamol is gone thru the liver
Doctor :   What I mean to say is diclofen can not accumulate
Doctor :   because it is excreted by kidney in urune
User :   got it !!
Doctor :   but paracetamol acumulates in liver
User :   so if my doctor is right that methionine will detoxify ! i should eat parasafe whenever i eat any other medicine containing paracetamol 1
Doctor :   I am not sure the role of it
Doctor :   it need 1-2 hours research on product
User :   ok !! that was a lot of help !! thanx a lot !!
Doctor :   i did not get info
