User :   well i have many different symptoms but the worst for today is that my upper stomach has severe sharp pain
User :   and when the pain starts i cannot bear it
User :   the right area when the gallbladder is is swollen and tender but i am post lap. chole
User :   epigastric region to be exact is the swollen area
User :   and i also feel sometimes pressure in the middle of my chest

User :   severe fatigue, no extreme fatigue
User :   everyday i would feel like i would be having a fever but it justlike doesnt come out
User :   itching like 2 going to 3 weeks now
Doctor :   Ok,
Doctor :   here it is, Based on your symptoms it makes on suspicious about you having Ulcerative colitis
Doctor :   and the above tests are to confirm the same
User :   what is it dr?
Doctor :   well since they are positive , i would consider the condition is considered for about 50% possibility in you
Doctor :   Ulcerative colitis is a type of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that affects the lining of the large intestine (colon) and rectum.
Doctor :   the reason being unknown
User :   before i could have BM it would be so painful first
Doctor :   one likely cause which could be considered in this condition is autoimmunity
Doctor :   yes, that type of pain is typical
User :   whats that dr?
User :   is this dangerous?
Doctor :   and the other symptoms you have do give strong clues into Ulerative colitis
Doctor :   Well , on long standing basis the condition is very troublesome
Doctor :   but in you as i see the lab values are not too high so as the disease to be so severe
User :   is this treatable?
Doctor :   if started treatment now after confirming the fact , you can have symptom less future
User :   what other test can confirm that i have this
Doctor :   yes, it is treatable. if caught in early times
Doctor :   the other tests which confirm the same are colonoscopy and subsequent colonic biopsy study
User :   a few months ago i can only feel this kind of pain for like 1 a months but now it has been 3 days
User :   what are the risk if not to be treated early?
Doctor :   it can become out of reach to the treatment
Doctor :   it can become a chronic condition , may not be life endangering but troublesome symptoms
User :   what are the worst case scenario? and what are the possible treatments
Doctor :   worst cases like in chronic cases it can get complicated and lead to Massive bleeding in the colon, tears or holes (perforation) in the colon,Colon narrowing,Colorectal cancer etc
User :   what kind of doctor should i see?
Doctor :   the possible treatment modalities at the early stages include 5-aminosalicylates such as mesalamine or sulfazine, which can help control moderate symptoms ,Immunomodulators such as azathioprine and 6-mercaptopurine,Corticosteroids (prednisone and methylprednisolone) taken by mouth during a flare-up or as a rectal suppository, foam, or enema,Infliximab (Remicade) or other biological treatments
Doctor :   You may have to get a integrated involvement of a gastroenterologist and a immunologist
User :   so it means that this treatments is only to reduce the pain ?
Doctor :   The above medications do halt the disease process
User :   is there any chance that this is related because i was already hysterectomized?
Doctor :   and try to prevent the recurrence of the symptoms
Doctor :   no , i do not think it being related to the hysterectomy anyhow
User :   can this be fatal?
Doctor :   very rarely , due to sepsis
User :   with laparoscopic cholecystectomy?
Doctor :   No,
Doctor :   not a chance
User :   ok so what can cause this kind of disease?
Doctor :   As i said the cause in unknown, except that some autoimmunity is noticed in people with such condtion
User :   oh ok
User :   how long from the early stage to severe?
Doctor :   may take months to years, commonly years.
User :   because its been quite sometime already when i was complaining that my stool has mucus with it
User :   in its early stage can this mimic GERD?
Doctor :   Get the colonoscopy done , it will confirm the condition and give insights into the stage the disease is in
Doctor :   yes, it can mimic GERD in early stages
User :   i had already been to colonoscopy because of my complain they have said that it was GERD this was 04/26/2010
Doctor :   Ok thats good to hear , but a biopsy and microscopic study of the same may be much informative
Doctor :   and it was in 2010 , i would advice a repeat test again
User :   ok in your opinion with the time from april of 2010 to now can this still be early stage?
Doctor :   yes, i could be.
Doctor :   Only the test can confirm the same
User :   ok thank you very much dr. for your help
Doctor :   you are welcome
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me
Doctor :   Kindly provide your feedback
User :   no problem
Doctor :   Wish you good health
Doctor :   Bye for now
Doctor :   take care
User :   thank you
User :   bye
