Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   nice to meet u here
User :   Hi! Nice to meet you! ok this is my question (its going to take me a while to type it out)
Doctor :   ok
User :   Ok I was very stupid and had unprotected sex on the 21st of February (which was also the last day of my period) I figured I was fine because it was the last day of my cycle (so I never got plan B). But over the last few days my breasts have been EXTREMELY sore and I'm terrified that I'm pregnant
Doctor :   ok
User :   I'm in college and I have midterms right now and I'm extremely stressed so I thought that maybe another period is coming on due to the stress, but this breast tenderness is so intense
Doctor :   since you had sex during the safe period, there is no need to fear the pregancy
User :   I'm a nursing major and I remember learning in school that there have been rare cases that women have gotten pregnant while on their period.
Doctor :   the first 10 days of the cycle and the last 12 days of the cycle are the safe period
User :   But nothing can explain this breast tenderness
Doctor :   It is very unsual , but in such women , their cycles are very irregular and they have miscalulated their cycles
Doctor :   HAVE u had your period s regularly ?
User :   Yes they have been pretty regular
User :   What could this breast tenderness be?
Doctor :   was 21st february, the 5th day of your current cycle ?
User :   I believe so... they usually last anywhere from 4 to 6 days
Doctor :   so today being the 4th, it must be the time of ovulation in your case (14-15 th day)
User :   I dont understand
Doctor :   if 21st feb was the 5th day of the cycle, then 4th of march should be the 14th day of the menstrual cycle
User :   ok, if i take an ovulation test right now and i am ovualting, im not pregnant?
Doctor :   so propably, you are around the time of ovulation
Doctor :   no you are not pregnant,
User :   would ovlation be a reson for my breast tenderness? should I be worried about something else?
Doctor :   probably the breast tenderness is a sign of PMS , pre menstrual syndrome
Doctor :   there is nothing else that needs to be worried about
Doctor :   this is definitely a sign of ovulation
User :   thank you, i just worry because it is not usually like this, Ive never had them this sore before.
Doctor :   the breast changes with time, and sometimes hormonal changes do make them sore from time to time
User :   would there be something to cause this irregular tenderness?
Doctor :   may i know your age ?
User :   23
Doctor :   in this age, group , there are no other things that can cause such symptoms other than ovulation, menstrual cycles, or pregnancy, or benign breast changes (fibroadenoma, or cystic disorder of the breasts)
Doctor :   so , since this is a time limited pain, i am of the opinion that the pain is due to ovulation related water retention (associated with hormonal surge)
User :   what should my cervical mucus be like right now?
Doctor :   As you approach ovulation, your cervical mucus will increase. First, there will be a moistness or stickiness to the mucus, as well as a white or cream-colored appearance.
Doctor :   At ovulation, the quantity of mucus will increase greatly and the appearance will resemble "egg whites", often semitransparent. The texture will become increasingly slippery and 'stretchable'.
User :   ok I have noticed stickiness and moistness in the last few days... I would not have that if I was pregnant correct?
Doctor :   Following ovulation, the slippery quality of the cervical mucus will decrease and the mucus will become sticky and cloudier
Doctor :   yes that is right
User :   Ok thank you for your time
Doctor :   you are most welcome
Doctor :   take care and bye for now
Doctor :   have a good night
User :   thank you, you too!
Doctor :   bye
