Doctor:Good Evening
Doctor:How can I help you?
User:My wife has unplanned pregnancy and we are contemplating abortion
User:Need your advice
Doctor:How many weeks pregnant is she?
User:Just missed her period by 3 days as of today
Doctor:Was the pregnancy confirmed by a pregnancy test?
User:We did the urine pregnancy test today
Doctor:Was it positive?
Doctor:You will have to follow certain measures.
User:Yes Pls let me know
Doctor:Firstly, you need to get an ultrasonography done, to see the position of the foetus.
Doctor:This is important because, if the foetus is in the fallopian tubes, an attempt to abort may result in life threatening complications.
Doctor:Once the scan is done, get her to a Gynecologist to see if an abortion can be undertaken as it was an unplanned pregnancy.
Doctor:It can be done with medication, under guidance as it is in the early stage of pregnancy.
User:We have two kids and both were through cesarian procedure
Doctor:You need to tell these details to the gynecologist, so that prevention of further pregnancy can be undertaken.
Doctor:Have you understood my suggestions?
User:we are based out of Ahmedabad. Would you be able to suggest a good gynecogist
Doctor:One of our Customer care executive will give you a call and guide you to a Good Gynecologist in Ahmedabad.
Doctor:Can you pls confirm your mobile number?
Doctor:Ok. Thanks.
Doctor:Is there anything else I can assist you with?
User:If all is well and we can go for abortion, how long is procedure and what is the recovery time in a general scenario
Doctor:At the present status, she will not have to go for any procedure. The abortion will be a medical abortion. It means, tablets would be given for getting the abortion done.
Doctor:Within 2-4 days, usually the bleeding starts and then may stay for up to 7-10 days.
User:Is this a safe method
Doctor:Yes. It is safe under the care of gynecologist, as pre-evaluation is required.
User:After what stage would a procedure be required
Doctor:After around 6 weeks of Pregnancy, usually medical termination is avoided.
User:What is the probability of the foetus being in the fallopian tubes
Doctor:It happens in many. So the probability cannot be said.
Doctor:So an ultrasonography is done to confirm the pregnancy position before giving medication.
User:After 6 weeks, abortion should not be undertaken?
Doctor:Abortion can be done up to 24 weeks of pregnancy. But between6-8 weeks and 24 weeks, D&C is the procedure opted.
User:How long does that procedure take and what would be the recovery time
User:M sorry for too many questions
Doctor:D& C would take around 30 minutes to 1 hour. Post procedure, it may take 2-3 hours for complete recovery from anesthesia. And further 1-2 weeks rest would be required.
Doctor:It is fine to ask questions about what you do not know. So please feel free to ask.
Doctor:Is there anything else you would like to know?
User:When can I expect a call from the customer executive for a reference for gynecologists
Doctor:You will get it as soon as they are able to locate a doctor for you.
User:If the foetus is in the fallopian tube, what would be the options
Doctor:Probably surgery would be the option.
User:Of course, nothing is above her health
User:Would that be safe
Doctor:Yes. Everything is safe if it is done under proper care.
Doctor:You will be getting the call in the morning tomorrow.
User:How long would the surgery take and what would be the recovery time
Doctor:It would be same as for D&C
User:Thanks a lot doctor
Doctor:You are welcome.
Doctor:Hope I had been able to clear all your doubts.
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Let us know if you have any medical queries. We will be always happy to help you.
Doctor:Good Night!
User:Good night
