User :   hello doc, i want to ask that i have done rubbing my genital with my girlfriend 5 days ago thats on my 11days since her period started. We didnt do any penetration, and my genital only rub her Vgina and maybe stick it a little. Somehow I didnt use any condom or taking birth control pills, but i didnt ejaculate inside her and i was only scared of the pre-cum from my genital. So after 21 hours my gf took a plan b one step. Today after 5 days since my girlfriend took plan b onestep she have a nosebleed which make me worried, is this a sign of earlier pregnancy or because of plan b one step? I am not really sure of plan b one step, does it really work?there is still a chance of pregnancy?
I am confuse because many people said that rubbing my genital to vagina is enough to get a pregnancy, and a pre-cum does contain sperm. So can you please tell me that is it safe for me or not? my girlfriend period is irregular the last two months she got it on 24 feb, last month she got it on 20 march, then i did this rubbing on 30 march. Please answer my questions thank you..
Doctor :   HI
User :   hi doc
User :   i have a question
Doctor :   Give me a minute to read your query.
User :   no thats my old query
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Proceed with your query.
User :   here is the case
User :   my gf had taken plan b one step pill last month
Doctor :   Ok
User :   and she is bleeding a week after and continued by menstruation
User :   she took the plan b one step pill on march 30
Doctor :   Ok
User :   start bleeding on 7 april
User :   and had her mens on 14 april
Doctor :   Ok
User :   which is earlier 4 days
Doctor :   Ok
User :   then we had one more sexual intercourse
User :   on 25 april
User :   we used condom
Doctor :   Ok
User :   and drink plan b one step on the next 3 hours
User :   because i am not sure of the condom
Doctor :   Ok
User :   dont know if it was broken
User :   or maybe have ahole
User :   my question is
Doctor :   Proceed.
User :   will the plan b one step work again on her?
User :   as she had use it last month?
User :   and use again this time?
Doctor :   Emergency contraceptive pills are known to work every time.
Doctor :   The medication causes hormonal changes which on an average stays in the body for 5-7 days before slowly fading.
User :   but there should be a duration on how often can we use it?
User :   so you said that even if she had use it last month
User :   it will also work this month?
Doctor :   Right, so the pill that she took last month could have remained effective for 5-7 days.
User :   will it reduce the effectiveness at the second time she use it?
Doctor :   The minor bleeding she had on 7 april
Doctor :   is due to reduction in the levels of this hormone content in the body.
Doctor :   This kind of bleeding occurs in some individual and not all.
User :   okay then, my gf is not bleeding this time
User :   and what that means?
Doctor :   And the same hormone changes could have been responsible for the disturbances in her normal menstrual cycle.
User :   it has been a week since she took the pill
User :   so do u think there is chance of pregnancy?
Doctor :   The withdrawl bleeding is difficult to understand and varies depending on her stage of menstrual cycle.
User :   her mens is at 14-19 april
User :   and the sexual intercourse on 25
User :   is it safe?
Doctor :   A few people report it while in most of them tolerate it well.
Doctor :   My answer to your question is that
Doctor :   the plan B taken the second time now, following sexual intercourse is effective in preventing pregnancy 95 -97 times out of 100.
User :   ?
Doctor :   So it is effective this time too.
User :   okay then how to differs the plan b bleeding and mens?
Doctor :   2. One can take plan B as often as after a week. Though this can be taken, we recommend the use of regular birth control pills, if couples involve in very regular sexual intercourse and do not wish to get pregnant.
Doctor :   okay then how to differs the plan b bleeding and mens? - can you rephrase this sentence?
Doctor :   Do you mean how to differentiate plan B bleeding and regular menstrual period bleeding is it?
User :   how to state the difference between bleeding caused by plan b pill and bleeding of menstruation
User :   yes
Doctor :   Right.
Doctor :   This is difficult at times.
Doctor :   But usually plan b bleeding is of minor intensity.
Doctor :   Both in the amount bleed and the number of days
Doctor :   one has the bleeding.
Doctor :   Occasionally people describe this as just spotting.
Doctor :   A normal period on the other hand will be usually lasting for 3-7 days depending on individuals,
User :   oh so if my gf
User :   has a minor bleeding for 2 days
User :   and stop for 2 days
User :   then there is heavy bleeding
Doctor :   usually the bleeding is mild to moderate in amount needing 1-2 pads again varying between individuals and occasionally associated with pain.
User :   is it menstruation?
Doctor :   If the days of bleeding is close to the days of her regular periods
User :   so you can say the chance of my gf getting pregnant is minim?
Doctor :   then I presume this could be regular menstruation.
Doctor :   Yes
Doctor :   Are you there?
User :   yes sorry
User :   i am paying for a longer time
User :   there is a risk
User :   of the condom broke
User :   and plan b one step will cover it?
User :   so the next menstruation will be coming at 14 may?or earlier?or later?
User :   because from what i have read the plan b change your period
Doctor :   You have heard it right.
User :   as for the last month my gf period is faster 4 days
User :   what about this month?
User :   ?
User :   doc?
Doctor :   Plan B is reported to cause menstral irregularities.
Doctor :   This is reported by some individuals.
Doctor :   By going by previous reports, most of them have reported a delay in the time of their regular period date.
Doctor :   A few however have also come up with early periods.
User :   then what about my gf?
Doctor :   So the answer what you are looking for is difficult to be predicted at this point.
User :   if she have her period faster last month because of plan b
User :   oh i see
User :   however what am curious is
User :   the chance of pregnancy
Doctor :   Like I said in the beginning of the chat, Plan B has prevented pregnancy 95 -97 times out of 100, every time when used early before 24 hours
Doctor :   So the chance that your partner could get pregnant now remote.
User :   doc how to know if its the safe time to have sexual intercourse after mens?
User :   what you mean by remote
Doctor :   By remote i mean, the chances is less than 1-3%.
Doctor :   Again this is not your chance which I am referrring to.
Doctor :   less than 3 out of 100 couples who have used plan B early have become pregnant.
Doctor :   Do you follow?
User :   yes
Doctor :   Regarding safe period for sexual intercourse,
User :   but i thought plan b should not be use oftenly
Doctor :   You have heard it right again.
Doctor :   We do not recommend you to use plan B very often not because it becomes less effective
Doctor :   because the disturbances produced in the hormone can change the normal rhythm of hormonal balance
Doctor :   leading to very drastic menstrual period irregularities.
User :   so my gf maybe will get her period late this month?
Doctor :   This reason along with the other side effects that may occur due to often use is the primary reason why we recommend the use of regular birth control pills.
User :   oh i see
Doctor :   so my gf maybe will get her period late this month? - there are higher chance of late periods, but this cannot be reported.
Doctor :   Since she had her period early the last time around
Doctor :   there are equal possibilities that her periods may come early too.
User :   if she ddint get bleeding this time?
Doctor :   If there is no bleeding this time around, then that needs evaluation.
User :   why?
User :   i mean bleeding because of plan b
User :   not mens
Doctor :   Intermenstrual bleeds that happen is some individuals is not significant
Doctor :   and does not play any role in deciding the further course of treatment in the current context.
Doctor :   you need to be worried, if she does not get her regular periods and not the intermenstrual period.
Doctor :   It seems that you have moved out of the chat window.
Doctor :   Please log in if there are any other query.
