Doctor:Good Afternoon
Doctor:How can I help you?
User:I am having one query
Doctor:Please proceed.
User:I have undergone 'URS DJ stening' recently for kidney stone
User:now I am havinng stent in my urator..I read on the internet that some exersion could displace thhe stent
User:So I want to know are there any symptoms from which I get to know that stent has been displaced
User:because after operation I ran twice
Doctor:Usually, the stent is placed to maintain the lumen of the urinary tract.
Doctor:It is done if there is any injury to the ureter or if there is gross swelling in the kidney.
Doctor:So that urine flows normally through the ureters to the bladder.
Doctor:It is usually rare for the stent to get disldged from its position.
Doctor:yes. There is always a chance for it to get dislodged if much of an exertion is there.
User:I read that if it moves into bladder then it can puncture it or harm it
Doctor:If it moves to the bladder, it can harm the bladder.
Doctor:But, if it moves, you will be knowing it.
Doctor:You will get pain like the pain you had when you had a stone.
Doctor:It is a foreign substance, which when moves through the ureter will cause pain.
User:I am not having a pain like i had earlier, but still while passing urine I am having some sensation that something is there
Doctor:As I XXXXXXX the DJ stent is inserted in the ureters and not in the urethra.
Doctor:So, you will not feel any sensation while passing the urine.
User:but i am having some sensation while urinating..
Doctor:may I know when was the stenting done?
User:it was done on 7th nov
Doctor:Usually the stent will be removed around 6 weeks after its insertion.
Doctor:Hope your Urologist would have asked for a review by then.
User:yes, and he has planned removal of stent on 30th Nov
Doctor:Until then there will be mild difficulties as occasional pain or discomfort.
Doctor:There might be mild pain even after the stent is removed, for a few days.
Doctor:So do not worry, it will get better soon.
User:So I could wait till saturday ..little discomfort is usual..right?
Doctor:Yes. It is very normal. Rarely some people experience great pain.
Doctor:I am happy that in your case, it a very mild pain that you had explained.
User:fine Doctor,Thanks a lot..I was really worried about it
Doctor:Hope I had been of help to alleviate your concern.
User:ofcourse Doctor
